Achille “Leo” Alfano - 85 of Atlantic Highlands passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 5, 2020.

Achille was born on March 25, 1935 in Rome, Italy, before moving to Brooklyn, Staten Island, and finally Middletown, NJ. Before leaving for America Leo was in the Air Force for the Italian Army. Leo met his wife Santa and together they raised their family. Leo worked as a elevator mechanic for Local # 3.

Leo was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 wonderful years Santa Alfano, his daughter Gina Alfano, and his sister Teresa Alfano. He was the devoted father to his daughter and her husband Debra and Robert DiGiaro. He was the loving brother to Leitta and Silvana. He is survived by his grandson Zachary DiGiaro, as well as his niece Marie Gollinello. Leo had many joys in life. Some of which were the Yankees and soccer. Of all his joys it was his family that made him shine brightest.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Rt. 35 Middletown, NJ 07748. Due to the currently COVID-19 health crisis, services will be held privately for the immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of the deceased.
