Cathrine was a dear friend for 55 years. We shared much in the community of the Sisters of St John the Baptist and many lunches and phone calls over the years after we did not live in community. I knew something was wrong when I could not reach her by phone. But when my cards were not returned I hoped she was staying with family.

My sincere sympathy goes out to your family. Catherine and I kept in touch once a year, through Christmas cards. She was a friend of my mother, and when my mom passed in 1981, I began the tradition of sending cards. Catherine always wrote the sweetest letters and notes to us, sent gifts when our son was born, and it was always a joy to hear from her. Although I truly never met her, I feel we had a wonderful connection. I am going to miss her lovely words. Maryann Running

My condolences to the family and friends of Catherine L'Insalata. Catherine was a saint, plain and simple. She and I worked at Catholic Charities on Evergreen Place in East Orange and shared lots of hard work, prayerful liturgies, and laughs. Had Catherine been in charge of the recent crises facing the Catholic Church, they would have been resolved a long time ago. She was a disciple of Jesus and a servant among servants.

My condolences to the L'Insalata Family. Catherine was one of the most genuine souls, I had the pleasure of meeting, and working with. It didn't matter if she saw me once a year or every week, she ALWAYS had a kind word, a heart warming smile and hug.
