Christopher Munson, devoted husband, son, brother, and best friend, passed away at the age of 34 on Saturday January 12th 2019 surrounded by his family and friends.

Chris grew up in Little Falls, NJ raised by his two loving and devoted parents, Danielle Munson and Mat Diehl. He was fortunate to have received a lifelong playmate and best friend in his brother, Justin Munson.

He graduated from Passaic Valley High School in 2003 and went on to attend Montclair State University where he met his soulmate and love of his life, Jennifer Tardogno. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Biochemistry and Chemistry in 2010. He went on work in the Science field in labs and biochemical sales.

He married his soulmate, Jenn, of 13 years in 2014 and relocated to Middletown, NJ. Known to his friends as “Ruckus” or most often just “Munson”, he spent his free time traveling, playing darts, watching sports, eating spicy food, and camping. He cherished spending time with his friends and family and loved nothing more than a great competition or elaborate practical joke. He was the life of the party, fiercely loyal, and endlessly generous - going great lengths to improve the lives of those around him.

Chris was diagnosed with Dedifferentiated Chondrosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer, in October 2017. He navigated his illness with dignity and grace and remained steadfast and iron-willed even in his final months.

In addition to his parents, wife, and brother, he was survived by his aunt and uncle, Cheryl Hardt and Dave Jackson, parents-in-law, Bill and Susan Tardogno, brother-in-law Andrew Tardogno, sister-in-law Alison Coleman and her husband Scott Coleman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Rt. 35 Middletown, NJ 07748 on Wednesday January 16th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Chris’ honor to the Sarcoma Foundation of America

Private Condolence

To Chris's Family and Friends,
I was one of Chris's Chemistry teachers at Montclair State. He was fun to have in class. I followed him and his struggle with cancer. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He lived a full and fun life that was too short. May God comfort you in this sad time.

Rest in peace. I only knew you from a group of people who found each other because they shared the same cruel disease, but we all feel like family there. You will be missed, Christopher

R.I.P. Munson. Thank you for all the memories, growing up with you was an adventure. Too many shenanigans to count. You were a great friend to so many, you were the kindest, funniest, most loyal, all around great guy. You were taken too soon, it's still hard to believe.
We will never forget you, we love you, thanks for all the memories.
Thinking of your family and sending strenght, love and support.
Love, Nicole & Chris Manzi
