Kevin Joseph Burke – 82 of Red Bank, NJ passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018 with his family by his side. Kevin was born on November 30, 1936 in Orange, NJ. After graduating high school Kevin entered the United States Army where he was in the 82nd Airborne Division 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment Soaring Panthers Brigade Combat Team. He served during active duty from 1958 – 1961 and in the reserves from 1961 – 1964 when he was honorably discharged. That’s when he married his wife Marian Frances Burke. After Kevin graduated from Pace College in 1968 he resided and raised his family in Westfield NJ. Recently he settled in Red Bank, NJ. Kevin worked as a investment banker for most of his life.
Kevin is the loving husband of Marian Frances Burke for 54 wonderful years. He is the devoted father to Caroline, Allison, and Aileen. Kevin is the caring brother to Jerome, Stephanie, Michael, and Brendan. He is survived by his grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Evan, Tucker, and Emily. Kevin had many joys in life some of which were dancing, swimming, boogie boarding, boating, reading the NY Times and Wall Street Journal, and loved the Ocean. Of all his joys it was his family that made him shine brightest.
Kevin was an extraordinary man. He was deeply loved by everyone. He was always kind, positive, and extremely loving. He was fun and always funny. He made us laugh everyday. He was always a gentleman. He was proud to be a member of the Army, 82nd Airborne. Kevin was an angel on earth and he is an angel in Heaven, We Love You.
Kevin will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Thursday December 27, 2018 from 3 – 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday December 28, 2018 at 10:30am at St Gabriel's Old Historic Church 549 County Rd 520, Marlboro Township, NJ 07746. Interment to follow at St Gabriel's Cemetery.
