Obituary

Richard W. Parsells 68 of Jackson, New Jersey passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital Lyons Campus on Monday March 9, 2020. Richard was born on October 28, 1952 in Red bank, New Jersey. After he graduated from Middletown High School he enlisted in the United States Marines where he left Honorably Discharged. After returning home he met his wife Gail, they were married and moved to Port Monmouth to raise their family. Richard worked as a truck driver delivering liquor to liquor stores in the tristate area for many years.

Richard is predeceased by his parents Marion and Walter. He is the beloved husband of Gail for 39 wonderful years. Richard is the devoted father of Melissa as well as the loving brother of Diane Pinto and John Parsells. Richard is survived by his very special grandchildren Emily “Emmy Pie”, and Karly “Kar Kar”. He would always make a big fuss when he was around them because he loved them so much.
Richard loved fishing, going to Atlantic City with his wife Gail, going to the beach, and especially swimming in the pool with Karly and Emmie.

Richard loved to kick it back and have a cold beer watching football. He also enjoyed going to the track betting on the horses, and there were also the trips to Vermont with his friends and his brother John that he loved having. Richard had a very big heart when it came to the Veterans, and he would always help them any way he was able to. He will truly be missed by all who knew him

Richard will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Rt 35 Middletown, New Jersey 07748 on Friday March 13, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Prayer Service will begin at 8pm

My deepest heartfelt condolences to the family. I will remember Rich for his infectious smile and everyday conversations. On Friday afternoons I would serve him a cold beer and we would just talk. His seat at the table at breakfast will be empty but he will be there in spirit.RIP my friend.

Please extend my condolences to the family. Rich and I had some good times in the Marine Corps. He was a good Marine Semper Fi Devil Dog. This is Rich and myself.

I am so sorry to hear about Rich's passing. Rich and I served together in the Marines while stationed at Camp Lejeune. We were friends and did many things together including we shared a off base residence. He even came home to PA with me for a weekend. Unfortunately we lost contact for many years, but renewed our relationship on FB. I have many fond memories of him. Again, please extend my condolences to the family. Paul Beck
